Getting There

http://www.ryanair.com I have rarely paid more than £100 return, even at peak holiday periods, but it is essential to book with the low cost carriers as soon as the schedules are published to get the best prices. I suggest that you register and get yourself on their mailing lists. Alternatives are Priceline or Dial a Flight.

There are numerous car rental companies at Malaga. I use http://www.carjet.com or www.doyouspain.co.uk and you can book online. They act as agents for a number of firms and they all seem to charge whatever they can get away with in terms of extras. You can pay a fee to the agents to cover the excess or take out an annual policy if you hire cars regularly and you are then in a position to decline the excess cover. However firms will either charge or block your credit card for a significant amount if you do not take their inclusive cover.

The apartment can be found by taking the N340 towards Marbella from the Airport. However, for the most part the Red signed N340 has now become the blue signed A7 marked Benalmadina and Algeciras and there is a new road from the airport which misses the first part of the following directions, but head towards fuengirola and Marbella going west.  Using the old road, at the roundabout at the San Miguel factory head away from the airport towards Torremelinos and Cadiz and turn right after approx 200 yards following the signs to Cadiz. After another 2-3 kms turn right again signposted E15, AP7 and A7 to Benalmadina and Algeciras. Carry on for another 18 kms ignoring signs to Mijas or Benalmadina (Jtn 217) . At Jtn 214 the road splits and the motorway (E15/AP7) goes to Algeciras and Marbella while you want the A7 sign to Fuengirola. Go around the bend, ignoring sign for A387 and Coin at this stage, past junction 212, ignoring sign for Fuengirola/Mijas then get in the right hand lane when you see the Cruzcampo sign on your right and take the next exit to Fuengirola and Coin (Coin is in small letters below Fuengirola). There is an elevated Macdonalds sign on the left which is lit at night.

Head right at the roundabout off the slip road towards coin for 2-3 kms, through an industrial area, past the BP Garage on the left (where you can pick up bread, Milk etc.) Repsol Garage on the right, a garden centre on the left, Hoya 19 restaurant on the right, and La Morena restaurant on the left, under the motorway and turn right before the stone wall of the golf course.

Las Golondrinas Phase 1, is 200-300 metres on the left immediately following the Matchroom. There is a plan of the complex with apartment numbers as you enter on the wall of the block in which the apartment is located.
